Welcome to the City of Oak Ridge.  Oak Ridge is a
quiet bedroom community of approximately 500,
that is situated between the cities of Terrell and
Kaufman, along North State Highway 34.  Less
than 25 miles East of Dallas, Oak Ridge is far
enough to afford quiet country living, but close
enough for commuters. If you are looking for a

A Rural Life is Better

City Council meetings are usually held on the 4th Monday of each month.  All meetings are
held at City Hall, 8450 N. State Highway 34, Oak Ridge, 75161.

There will be an executive session of the City Council on April 25th beginning at 7:00 PM,
and a Workshop immediately after, beginning at 7:30 PM.  Executive Sessions are closed to
the public, however the Workshop will be an open meeting.

The next regular Council meeting will be held on April 28th at 7:00PM.
****Road Repair Update****

The base work on County Road 138 & 140 is completed.  The City is now waiting on TXDoT
to repair the drainage ditches on 138 & Zagota Crossing.  The Mayor has requested an
estimate to resurface 138 from Commissioner Vrzalik.

There are issues regarding ownership of the other roads in the City. By law, the City cannot
repair any road owned by any entity other than the City of Oak Ridge. The Council is in the
process of determining ownership of the roads, and investigating solutions as to how to

Because the City has an interlocal agreement with the County, Commissioner Vrzalik
cannot repair Oak Ridge roads without going through the City.

The Council is well aware of the poor state of the roads in the City. They are moving as
quickly as possible to resolve the numerous legal, financial, and other issues, necessary to
initiate repairs. Your patience is much appreciated.
